The role of the surface chemistry and model catalysis group of Prof. H. Over is to:
|
Deciphering the structure of the nanomesh by means of combining the real- and
reciprocal space investigations of the nanomesh, i.e. microscopic and
diffractional investigations
Study of nanomesh formation process and any phase transitions involved - by
means of real-time diffractional investigations (SPA-LEED) and study of
precursors' decomposition process - by means of real-time RAIRS investigation
Testing the possibility of nanomesh production on different substrates, including
thin metal films on insulators or on silicon, as well as with different
precursors and characterization of nanomesh quality and parameters as a
function of variables involved - all by means of running our extensive
UHV-based research infrastructure mentioned above
Investigating the application of produced nanomeshes, primarily by trying the
catalytic properties of metal nanoparticles which we will try to create on top
of the nanomesh, or inside of its holes
